We wish it was ready now too! We're doing everything we can to get it back asap. This shirt is very popular and sold out faster than we anticipated. We are also dealing with the supply chain delays that are all over the news these days. Unfortunately, that is beyond our control. Some things just run on Aloha time.
The good news is that we've got the fabric to make these shirts in El Paso. So we recommend preordering now to reserve yours for the run of shirts we're making, as these will likely sell out quickly again. Thank you very much for your patience and interest in our shirts.
We collaborated with fine artist Mike Field, our neighbor down the road in Holualoa, in creating this Aloha shirt. Mike loves outrigger canoe paddling and has spent plenty of time on the water in Hawaii and Tahiti. His art really captures the peace and beauty of a solo paddler "catching bumps" on a breezy Tahitian day.
Mike Field is living the dream of balancing work, family and play to where they all blend together and afford a life with limited aggravation and continued delight. A celebrated waterman, a family man, and an extremely gifted artist. He has emerged as one of the most sought-after artists in Hawaii and around the world, with exhibitions in New York, London and Shanghai. His uncanny ability to capture the beauty of the Islands generates a timeless representation of “Old Hawaii” with a sophisticated modern arrangement.
Mike was born in Guam and raised in Hawaii. His inspiration for his creativity comes from the Polynesian lifestyle, its ocean and the floras that canvas the islands. In his fine prints, people share the spotlight along with the island landscape, the vegetation, and ocean.
Having experienced years of surfing, sailing and canoe paddling in the Pacific Ocean, Mike’s art has a very unique approach. While most artists capture the vantage point of looking outward from the land to the ocean, many of Mike’s pieces change this perspective. He has the ability to make you feel as if you are a part of the canvas.
Mike lives on the island of Hawaii, in the small artistic town of Holualoa, with his wife Terry, son Luke and daughter Paloma. When he’s not in his studio creating new pieces, he can be found talking story at his store, surfing with his kids or sailing his canoe.
